1. Overview

EchoWalk ("we", "our", or "the app") is an audio walking tour guide for Android. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and how it is used.

2. Information We Collect

• Location data: With your explicit permission, we access your device's GPS coordinates solely to generate a personalised walking tour for your current location. Location data is sent to our secure backend server and is not stored beyond the duration of the request.
• Account information: If you sign in, we store your email address and a unique user ID (via Firebase Authentication) to manage your account and tour quota.
• Usage data: We record how many tours you have generated in a given day in order to enforce fair-use quotas for free tier users. No personally identifiable usage analytics are collected.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To generate AI-powered walking tour content relevant to your chosen city or current location.
• To authenticate your account and apply the correct subscription tier (free or premium).
• To prevent abuse through per-IP and per-account rate limiting.

4. Third-Party Services

EchoWalk integrates with the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policies:

• Google Gemini AI – tour content generation
• Firebase (Google) – authentication and database
• ElevenLabs – text-to-speech narration
• RevenueCat – subscription management
• OpenStreetMap Nominatim – city/place search

5. Data Retention

Raw location coordinates used for tour generation are not stored on our servers. Account data (email, UID, tour count) is retained for as long as your account exists. You may request deletion at any time by contacting us.

6. Children's Privacy

EchoWalk is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

7. Your Rights
